About Agapé Christian Counseling

Agape Christian Counseling was founded in 1998 by Ann Noonan.  Having recently moved to Charlotte, Ann wanted to continue the counseling approach of integrating Biblical truth with the healing process of professional counseling.  She and her husband, Tom, worked diligently to create an organization that provided vital resources to the community and the surrounding churches.

In 2002, Agape became a nonprofit organization, allowing Ann to expand support to the local church and provide therapy to those who were not able to afford it.  Her burden for ministry led her to volunteer for mission trips to third world countries, provide counseling for missionaries, and lead trauma groups within the local detention center.  Ann’s desire to support the churches in the community led to multiple partnerships throughout the area.

In 2015, Ann stepped down as Executive Director and passed the baton, with an incredible foundation that continues to provide hope throughout our community today.  In 2019, Ann passed away, leaving a legacy that embodies her love for God, the church, and our community.  We are forever grateful for her obedience to God’s calling and take pride in carrying on her vision to see the greater Charlotte area become emotionally healthy and spiritually transformed by the power of God through the ministry of Agape.
