Jillian Heard is completing her final year in the Masters in Christian Counseling program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (GCTS) and will be serving Agapé as the clinical counseling intern for the fall of 2019. She earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Environmental Studies and Spanish from Wofford College. Jillian worked with a college ministry on the campus of Johnson & Wales University and was given the great privilege of walking with many young women through the joys and pain of college life. Her desire to help others in their personal journey of growth and healing was deepened, so she decided to pursue training to be more equipped to do so.
Jillian’s passions as a counselor have been molded through her work and internship experiences. She loves working with adolescent and young adult women, as well as underserved populations. Her most recent clinical rotations involved working with incarcerated individuals in the Mecklenburg County jail system. She provided individual and group therapy, dealing with issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, personality difficulties, self-control, and others.
In her free time, Jillian enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, playing sports, and spending time with her husband.
